Thermal technology and the thermal technology approach to SPS/DCS
Robert Aalund (Acatec)

Abstract:
This presentation includes an updated introduction to Thermal Technology LLC. The company has gone through many changes since the new ownership in 2007, including introducing several new product lines and very substantial sales growth in all of their core technologies. This is also an introduction to the Thermal Technology design approach for SPS. When TT committed to offering an SPS product line in 2008, there was great effort in offering ideas and designs that hadn't been offered before. These design concepts will be reviewed. The SPS market so far includes mostly research labs and universities, and this market continues to grow. The commercial market, as it develops, will require high throughput and reasonable initial investment associated with SPS technology. Thermal Technology offers a high throughput system that can be built around any of our SPS batch systems. They also offer a straight DC (Direct Current Sintering) system for larger samples where pulsed DC current has little to no affect. This presentation will include a review of both systems.
